This is his FIRST!! What a memory maker. Len is very good with children. Very patient and teaches as he goes. Children are AWAYS WELCOME!

Tillamook is picking up!

Some HOT days and some not so hot. That is why they call it Fishing and not Catching!

But you can rest assured that Len will give it his best!

Here are 2 recent pictures.

This biggest one is a 42 pounder - what a hoot!!

The biggest one here is a 41 pounder! What a thrill to catch.

Here is a close up of that BABY!!!

This is a nice bunch of River fish from the tail end of the Buoy 10 fishery. Can't beat these for great eaters!

THE OCEAN IS GOING TO REOPEN SEPTEMBER 2ND!!!

They think that it will stay open through the end of September!

This is awesome news!!!!! When they closed it on us the Ocean was producing limits almost daily.

Hi Everyone!!

Actually the 2 that he is holding - I caught! But I let him hold them so he could pretend he caught them. HA! The Chinook was quite a dandy - large enough that we cut some steaks out of it.

This couple were celebrating their 10th Wedding Anniversary.

Hi Everyone!!

Here is a great bunch of Ocean Coho. Had these in the box and back to the dock before Noon!

Catching lots of Natives so it is a weeding process.

These 6 Coho and 1 Chinook took about 1 1/2 hours to catch!

It is shaping up to be a season like the good old days! Lots of fish and a fairly fast limit. They should be hitting the river in some numbers soon.

The Catch and Release Sturgeon Fishery has been a hoot! This is a great adventure for the kids. They don't have to worry about losing the fish and can just enjoy the fight!

Mid-August the river should be full of fish on into Mid-September. But the Ocean is HOT NOW!

So - here is my broken record again - call NOW to get a good Buoy 10 Salmon date and also do not forget those big FALL HOGS in Tillamook!

Hi Everyone!!

The Ocean has FINALLY calmed down so we can start getting out and Salmon fish!!

The Ocean is open NOW and the River opens on August 1st.

Here are a few Sturgeon pictures. Sturgeon is closed to retention - HOWEVER - you can Catch and Release.

In July we have all those big, fat Ocean Sturgeon in the River and fishing is awesome!

This is a 60 incher on the nose!!!

This group had an awesome day! Everyone got their fish including Len.

Vince caught another nice one. Not a 60 incher but some people fish their whole life and never catch a 60 incher! The other two in this picture are my Mother and my Sister, Brenda that came up from San Jose for the Holiday.

Needless to say, Brenda took some really nice Sturgeon fillets and razor clams back to California with her!

Check your calendars and email or call and let's get you out there for a fun day of fishing! Either Catch and Release Sturgeon or Salmon.

Hi Everyone!!

4 people - 5 fish = Len got one too!!

Last night I deep fried (I know NOT good for you) some pieces with Tempura batter - that with home made tarter sauce and we were set for the night! YUMMY!

Here is the first FLOUNDER of the year. I wouldn't mind catching a bunch of those. They are such great little fish to eat. Some years we catch a lot and some we only catch a few. ????

Now - here is little Chaplin the Dog. Len enjoyed his company very much. He liked to set there and watch the poles!

We are in Astoria fishing for those pre-historic, awesome fishing and yummy to eat Sturgeon.

These we caught May 17th.

This is a very short season. It ends around July 1st or 2nd. We still have some days left - not many but some.

Also - NOW is the best time to start thinking about getting a date for the Buoy 10 Season.

The Ocean opens the beginning of July and then the River in August.

Hi Everyone!!

We now have gutters! Hee-Haw! Never thought I would be so excited about gutters. HA!

We also have the kitchen and living room drywalled and Len has been laying tile in his spare time - definately another HA! What spare time?

No dish washer - no kitchen sink. Have you ever tried to wash dishes in a bathroom sink? I find that the bathtub works the best! It is quite the sight!

Len is Sturgeon fishing today and so far they have 2 Keepers.

Nice 25 pound fish! Chrome bright!

MAY 12th ASTORIA STURGEON OPENS!!

This is definately a fishery that you want to get in on. It goes through the end of June and normally into a couple of days in July.

We still have some good days open. A few weekends but more weekdays.

Also - the Ocean opens for Salmon the beginning of July.

Hi Everyone!

I haven't posted much lately. That doesn't mean we are not fishing! Len is out there almost everyday.

However, when he isn't he is diligently working on trying to restore some normalicy to our house.

We finally got the roof repaired and the drywallers come next week - so maybe I will have a kitchen again soon! I sure hope so.

Hi Everyone!!

It is that time of year again!

Just a quick reminder to let you know that Len has been invited again to do his 2 Seminars per day at the Portland Sportsman's Show this year. The show opens on February 7th and goes through February 11th.

Len is doing a Spring Chinook - Techniques and Training Seminar and also a Buoy 10 - Bait Rigging Seminar.

This is the schedule:

Feb. 8th: Spring Chinook - 3:30 PM and Buoy 10 - 5:30 PM

We are also trying our hands at having our own booth this year. It will be straight across from where Len does his Seminars.

Hi Everyone!

We have moved to Tillamook and are now chasing those FALL HOGS!

I forget how beautiful these fish really are. Nice and bright with long tailed sea lice right out of the Ocean!

It doesn’t get any better than that. Once you have had fresh Salmon – never frozen – you will cringe at buying it in the store again!

Our weather has been awesome. Chilly in the mornings and then clearing off to a bright, sunny day.

Hi Everyone!

Well - it is that time of year AGAIN!!

We are getting ready to make the move to TILLAMOOK for the Fall Fishery. Here is where we fish for those Huge King Chinook Salmon that we locally refer to as HOGS! (some people spell it HAWGS).

Here is an awesome King Chinook caught in the Columbia River here in Astoria.

35 POUNDS!! What a beauty!

Check this Steelhead out! This was caught on the same day.

Here is the whole catch. A COHO, a STEELHEAD and a 35 Pound KING CHINOOK.

Now THAT is a nice catch of fish!

Don't forget to get a date for the Fall Fishery in Tillamook.

I have been so busy that my posting of pictures is WAY behind. Here some really good ones. SO!!! The Sturgeon will stay open until July 4th. There is talk about it opening back up for a little while but we do not know yet for sure.

Ocean Salmon opens on July 3rd. It looks like it will be an awesome run. Not only do we get to fish on all our fish but also the ones that the Commercial guys down south are not getting to fish for. Bad for them but good for us.

THE STURGEON ARE HERE !!

We are in Astoria fishing for those awesome, pre-historic, hard fighting, great eating STURGEON !

Lots of SHAKERS were caught that day and they managed to pull 2 KEEPERS out of the lot.

This is in our 27 foot, covered boat. This shows the back and how roomy it is. It is a very comfortable boat to fish out of.

Hi Everyone!

The River is open, however, the water is still a little too warm to bring in a lot of numbers of fish but there are fish there. Each day the river cools a bit and more fish come in.

We are still fishing the Ocean, weather permitting and will be switching to the River as the fish arrive in larger numbers.

AND - we still have some spots open here and there in August. September is a very good month for fishing the Ocean or River and we do have a better selection of dates there.

TAKE A LOOK AT THIS!! A STEELHEAD from the OCEAN!!

Len got to go fishing again! He caught this STEELHEAD and also a CHINOOK for his limit of 2.

These Coho are pretty nice ones as well. They just kinda get dwarfed by the other two.

NOW - this is what I like to see! Len hard at work slicing and dicing! HA! That is our boat and truck in the background.

Hi Everyone!

A quick post to show a couple of Sturgeon pictures and to remind you that they have extended the season for retention to August 15th.

This picture is a little dark because of the sunshine.

We are having beautiful weather. Lots of sunshine and blue skies. Be sure to bring the sunscreen.

AND - look at this!! Len actually got a day off so he and his friend went out and landed these two nice keepers.

Hi Everyone!

With the extension of Sturgeon Season - Len has been pretty busy fishing those last folks that wanted to go.

The fish are nice, big fat Ocean Sturgeon!

There are 2 days left on our Calendar to see if you can catch one of these. July 15th and July 16th.

There is going to be a meeting on the 13th to see if ODFW will keep it open for a few more days. I will keep you posted.

Len did manage to get out to the Ocean to check out the beginning of the BUOY 10 SEASON!

Put the lines out at around 9AM and were done by around 11:00. Limited his customers and himself. 6 Coho and 2 Chinook! They had 2 other Chinook that came off right up at the boat. So the fish are here!

ODFW has decided to Extend The Sturgeon Season.

It will stay open through July 10th and then close and reopen again for July 15th through the 17th!

We have the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th and the 15th open.

Any of you that did not get a chance to go Sturgeon Fishing this year or those that want to go again - this is your chance!

Here's what they look like! This one was 59 7/8 Inches.

Hi Everyone!

Well - as everyone knows - the Springer Fishing has been tough this year but Len manages to pull a few out! Here are a husband and wife that both caught nice ones. I might add that I went along and remembered the camera. That always helps when you want pictures to post! HA!

This was Wendy's first Salmon ever and she was so funny! Her rod went down and she starting screaming "It's my rod! It's my rod! Get out of my way!" Needless to say we all scrambled to find seats and get out of her way! Len was standing by her rod so he grabbed it for her. When she got to the back of the boat she yelled at him "It's my rod! It's my rod! Give it to me!" You can guess what the razzing conversation was about in the boat the rest of the day. I don't think she will EVER live it down.

YUM! Springer's!! They are so good. They don't even compare to the other runs. Don't know why but they don't.

We still have a few days open so CALL and let's try to get you one!

I don't mean to seem like I am harping - BUT - so many people wait to call thinking there is plenty of time to get a good spot and are sorely disappointed.

OK!! THIS IS NO APRILS FOOLS!

Here are pictures of THREE SPRINGER'S caught on April 1st.

Hi Everyone!

Sturgeon fishing has been fun! Not a lot of keepers this time of year but lots and lots of the smaller ones - they are called 'Shakers' because most of the time you can just shake them off your line over the water.

Len's last trip he caught over 40 fish!

Here is a picture of a Shaker.

It was a beautiful day on the Willamette!

The picture is a little dark because the top of the boat is throwing a shadow - but this shows the belly of the Sturgeon and his sucker mouth.

Here is one that is a 'Keeper'! A nice fat one!

They are so much fun to catch. Really put up a good fight! Astoria is the place to fish for them this summer.

Hi Everyone!

The Springers are starting to show up. Not in any great amount yet - but it is just around the corner and they will.

NOW is the time to call and get a date that will work best for you. Once the fish are here - the dates fill up quickly and getting a good tide date is hard to come by.

I thought I would share a few pictures with you that are not of fish.

For all of you who missed the show -this first one is Len doing his Seminars at the Sportman's Show this year.

He draws quite a crowd. Standing room only and the isle is usually blocked to through traffic as a result.

If you missed him this year - he will back again next year!!

These next two pictures are of the Trask. Len, myself and our son D.O.G. were it on not too long ago and I took these great SUNRISE pictures.

For those of you who know the Trask - I am sure you will reconize the trees on the left.

This is from a recent trip down the Clackamas. It was one of those rare days when Len gets to go fishing with the guys! They took a friends drift boat and Len just got to sit back and enjoy the ride.

Even I get to go fishing now and then. Not often - but sometimes!

Len and myself and our Cocker - D.O.G. spent some time on the water. It was a a beautiful day. Nice and sunny and hot!

I wound up 2 for 3 hookups and Len 1 for 3 hookups. All D.O.G. caught was a couple of naps and some rays! HA!

WOW! What a season! Where did the time go??

We still have a few weeks left for this awesome fishery and also a few days still available for YOU to GO FISHING! Then we are off to TILLAMOOK for those BIG, FAT HOGS!!

Check this BIG - BRIGHT COHO out!! This was caught on a Red and White Spinner on September 9th.

Lots of nice Chinook and also very large Coho! Some of the Coho are as large as the Chinook.

We have had a very good year with lots and lots of limits.

Throughout the year we email out a one page flyer that tells where we are and what we are doing. Hi Everyone!!

Fishing has been awesome!! Limits almost EVERYDAY!

Here are a few recent pictures. I have not posted them all. If you do not see your picture - email me and I will see that it gets posted for you! I get so busy and so far behind - there are just not enough hours in a day. Arrg! It is September 1st already.

These are beautiful Ocean fish. Mary caught the big one and showed the guys how it is done! Seems like it is some kind of hormone thing. Happens all the time!

I would put these in my freezer anytime!! Of course, you might lose one or two to the BBQ and the neighbors.

Very nice, bright fish.

A couple for Len and I also, on this day.

A few nice Chinookies! Len likes to call them 'Smilies'. I asked him why? He said - because everytime someone catches one - it puts a big smile on their face!!!

The dark one cut bright, bright red. More red then the Cohos. Go figure. You can just never second guess what they will cut like.

OK - this is the schedule. Around September 21st we are moving South to Tillamook to go after those BIG FALL CHINOOK HOGS!!

We will stay there through November - fishing the Bays and Lower Rivers and then following the fish up the river in the Drift Boat.

GREAT NEWS!!

The Ocean is going to open 7 days a week starting this coming Friday. ALSO - you can keep 2 Chinook instead of one. You can keep 2 Chinook or 2 Coho or 1 Chinook and 1 Coho. Coho have to be fin clipped but the Chinook can be either or.

Chinook have to be 26 inches and Coho 16 inches.

SO - with this change - Len has Friday and Saturday open. Give us a call and catch yourself some of these!!!!

This was yesterday! What a hoot! We caught lots of hard fighting Natives but managed to land these 6 fin clipped Coho by 10 AM. The Ocean and Bar were flat as a pancake. At least my pancakes! HA!

Well - Sturgeon is closed except for Catch and Release.

So now - we have moved on to OCEAN SALMON!!

Even LEN GETS TO CATCH ONE now and then! They left the dock at 5:30 were fishing by 6:30 and were done by 8:00.

Fishing is good!! Lots of action!!

More fish to catch so it took a little longer - they were back around 10:30. The Coho are running around the 6 to 9 pound range which is large for this time of year. Some bigger - small smaller but generally a very nice size.

The dates for this fishery are filling up very fast.

Len has very few dates left open in both July and August. We will be fishing for these fish until mid September and there are some dates left in September as well.

WOW!! I can't believe how time flies!

We have been so busy - I have not kept up on the postings. So here is a bunch.

Sturgeon fishing has been just a blast. ODFW is holding a meeting tomorrow to determine when it will close. They think that it will stay open through the Holiday weekend but not for sure. We will know tomorrow. I will post the outcome tomorrow.

Len does still have a couple of days open over the Holiday, so if you want to slide in and get that last chance at a Sturgeon - CALL TODAY!!

Check these Flounder out!! 35 total. Not all show in the picture - for those who count! HA! The skinless, boneless filets filled 4 gallon freezer bags to the top! YUM!

Another day on the river. These guys wanted their Sturgeon so Len steered clear of the "Flounder Hole'!

Look at this
