A 28 pound and a 33 pound Chinook.

2 Chinook and 1 Coho for 3 rods. The big Chinook is 42 lbs and the Coho 22 lbs. WOW - WOW - WOW!!!

Hi Everyone !!

Ocean Salmon fishing is AWESOME !!

They should be getting into the River in respectable numbers soon.

This next picture I took on August 10th when Len and I got a rare chance to go fishing ourselves.

Ocean was flat as a pancake and it turned out to be a beautiful sunny day and a limit of nice fish!

The only thing that is missing in this picture is a rod folded down in the rod holder !!

The Keeper Sturgeon has been extended through July 31st or until quotas are met.

Also, the Ocean is now open for the June King Chinook that we call the June Hogs. The catch rate for these have been very good.

Hi Everyone !!

Here is a beautiful Sturgeon caught in the lower Columbia.

Keeper Sturgeon stays open through June 26th. After the catch rate is evaluated, they might reopen it for a few days the beginning of July but we won't know for sure until we get there. I will let you know as soon as I know.

Even when it closes for Keepers we can still fish for them, but it is catch and release only.

The Ocean opens for the King Chinook and Coho run on June 26th. The run this year is expected to be awesome!!

We have some very good weekend and weekdays still open.

Hi Everyone!

Here is another beautiful Spring Chinook!!

This lady is my sister and she is actually very small but with all those clothes she looks very big!! I had to add that or she would have a fit having her picture on our website!

Look how bright and fresh that fish is.

This was a Family trip so next - I will share a couple of photos of our kids.

This is my Mommy's baby. She says he is my Brother. HA!! His name is Tiger.

This is our Little Boy D.O.G. Looks like he was enjoying a bag of chips!

And this is him after a long, hard day of fishing.

He loves pillows and just happened to fall asleep like this.

Still warm, right out of the cooker the crab is so sweet and good - so some of them never make it to the picture!!

Here is today's Crab Catch!

We actually got 51 but there are only 50 because SOMEBODIES ate one! Is that a word? Well it is now.

Take them out of the cooker, cool for just a little while in cold water then eat some WHILE IT IS STILL WARM!!

Just doesn't get any better than that!!

This is taken at our fish cleaning and crab cooking station at our place in Warrenton.

We cook and clean them for you. It is all included in the cost!

Sturgeon fishing went out with a BANG!

We can still fish for them - catch and release. There are some really big ones out there!

2010 FISHING INFORMATION !!!

The SUMMER is here and with that comes:

** The Awesome ASTORIA STURGEON FISHERY

** The Ocean JUNE HOG FISHERY (This is the term used for these nice big Chinook)

** The Best in the West ASTORIA KING CHINOOK AND COHO RUN ( Buoy 10)

STURGEON !!

CALL NOW TO GET A GOOD DATE !

STURGEON season in Astoria is here again! This fishery opened May 22nd and closes June 26th. We still have some good dates left, but they will go quickly so it is best to book soon.

OCEAN SALMON !!

BOOK IT NOW !

The JUNE HOGS fishery opens June 12th. This is the first time in a long time that we been given an ocean season for these fish.

The OCEAN COHO and KING CHINOOK SALMON opens July 1st this year. These are actually the Buoy 10 fish that are still in the Ocean and have not moved into the Columbia River yet. So we will be fishing the Ocean until the Columbia River has good numbers of fish in it.

In the ocean we not only get to fish on the Columbia River fish but all of the other fish that are headed North to other rivers so there are a lot of fish!

WOW - is this a HOT Fishery! It is absolutely a blast to fish here!

Our 27 foot boat makes the Ocean Fishery very fun and safe. For those who have not fished from it yet - it is very roomy with a nice big cover and high sides. Everyone has their own Captain's chair for their own home base and comfort.

BUOY 10 !!

THE DAY'S HERE WON'T LAST LONG !!

The BUOY 10 FISHERY in the Lower Columbia River is a great fishery every year! This is probably the best and most productive Salmon fishery, other than the Ocean in the Pacific Northwest.

The River opens on August 1st, and with the Ocean still open - its gives us the option to fish either the River or the Ocean!

This fishery goes through Mid September and with a mixed bag of KING CHINOOK AND COHO SALMON, limits are a common thing.

Then FALL ARRIVES and brings with it:

TILLAMOOK FALL CHINOOK !!

DON'T FORGET THE TILLAMOOK HOGS !

We will be starting in Tillamook around September 20th and fishing into Mid to late November. These are the BIG CHINOOK referred to as HOGS!

(After Fall Chinook we go after those line singing Winter Steelhead and Winter Sturgeon - but I will tell you more about that in a later email.)

Hi Everyone!

Here are the last 2 days of HOG fishing!

The one on the right is a little HOG-ETTE.

But - just right whole on the BBQ!

These are the KEEPERS.

(Someone - and his name starts with an L and ends with an N and there is an E in the middle - had their thumb over the corner of this picture! HMMM? Who could that be? HA!) New camera so we will give him a break this time!

There were also several Native Coho that we could not keep as well as several Chinook that got away. Don't you just hate that when they get away !?!? Especially when they take your favorite spinnner, etc. with them!

Hi Everyone!

OKAY!!!

Here is the first fish on the first trip in Tillamook for this year!!

A Beautiful 32 POUND FALL CHINOOK HOG !!!

This one was caught on a spinner.

Len likes to use a combination of techniques to try and get these FALL CHINOOK, making it a fun and interesting day.

The run this year is predicted to be one of the best in years with lots and lots of COHO.

The powers to be even raised the Coho limit from 1 fish per day to 2 fish per day!

We still have some very good days still left open so don't forget to book your TILLAMOOK FALL CHINOOK DAYS -- these fill up fast.

The OCEAN IS STILL RED HOT!!!

This was actually a limit for them and also for Len. The little girl could barely hold the one she has so did not even try to hold 2!

The Lady in the orange jacket - the fish in her right hand is a 20 lb Coho!

That is huge for this time of year and they will only get bigger and bigger.

The week of the 16th we have several days available. And others here and there.

Also - FALL CHINOOK season in Tillamook is just around the corner and booking up fast!

Hi Everyone!!

The Ocean is RED HOT and SMOKING!!

It is so much fun. Lots of action. Sometimes there are 2 and 3 fish on at once!

Len doesn't even have time to take the fish out of the net so he is netting fish with fish still in the net!!

So far the limits have been early. Len leaves the dock around 6 and is getting back with limits for our customers and also for himself around 9 o'clock - give or take. One morning he was back at 7 o'clock!

This was the last day of Sturgeon! What a way to end the season!!

There is talk that they might extend it again and give us a few more days, but that is not for sure. We should hear in a few days. I will post it here if they do.

We have some very good Ocean dates still open as well as some great River dates. The River fishing will last way into September.

AND - we are rapidly closing in on the FALL CHINOOK season in Tillamook.

NOW is the time to check your calendars to get the date or dates that works best for you.

Hi Everyone!!

STURGEON REOPENS for July 10th thru July 12th and again July 17th thru July 19th!

We do have several of those dates still open so check your calendars and give us a call or email!

Here are the last couple of days of OCEAN COHO FISHING!

Both days we left the dock around 6 AM - got our fish by 8:00 and were back to the dock around 9AM.

As you can see - for this early in the run - these guys are good sized, very nice quality fish. And they are only going to get bigger and bigger and bigger!!

BUOY 10 in the OCEAN is open right now and then the RIVER opens AUGUST 1st.

I know this is a repeat from my other posting, however, I want to say it again. The run this year is predicted to be one of the best in ages!!

Mid August we are told that the limit most likely will go to 3 fish and then the end of August to 4 fish. Time to fill up your freezers!!

We still have some VERY GOOD fishing dates left for BOTH STURGEON and SALMON so check your schedule and give us a call or email and lets get you out fishing!

Hi Everyone!!

Here are pictures of the STURGEON we are catching!

These are big, fat, beautiful Ocean fish!

With the new measurement system we are actually getting some keepers that would have been oversized last year.

Every now and then even LEN gets to keep a fish.

I bet you can guess what we had for dinner! If you have never eaten Sturgeon - it is a real treat. It is a very mild white fish with no bones. Once you have had it you will want more and more!

ASTORIA STURGEON goes through June 28th. Then it opens again July 2nd through July 5th.

BUOY 10 in the OCEAN opens June 28th and then the RIVER opens AUGUST 1st. The run this year is predicted to be one of the best in ages!!

ASTORIA STURGEON opens May 9th and goes through June 28th. Then it opens again July 2nd through July 5th.

BUOY 10 in the OCEAN opens June 28th and then the RIVER opens AUGUST 1st.

Tillamook fishing has been pretty good. Some good days - some not so good - but that is what fishing is all about!

Check this picture out! Here you can keep 2 Salmon. Only one can be a Chinook. So one Chinook and one Coho or 2 Coho. You can also keep Jacks.

This lucky man got one of each! One King Chinook, One Coho and One Jack !!!

Hi Everyone!!

Well - Sturgeon is done except there is always CATCH AND RELEASE.

AND - don't forget that the River opens on August 1st for Salmon.

The OCEAN is open right now for SALMON!

Ocean Salmon fishing is a real blast. Lots of action and usually a fast limit. Our 27 foot big boat has 36 inch high sides and cuts through the water very nicely.

We have Sterns inflatable suspender vests for everyone to wear. With the high sides, the length, all the safety gear and, of course, Len behind the wheel it is a very, very safe fishery. Len will not go if it is not a safe ocean and he NEVER pushes the envelope. Also, you are not very far offshore. Land is always in sight. So don't let the Ocean scare you. Just get out and get your fish!!

This is yesterdays catch. Left at 6 AM and back around noon.

The big one on the end is a CHINOOK the rest are COHO.

Hi Everyone!!

WELL! I guess it is about time that I did an update!

We are in Astoria fishing for those awesome Sturgeon. As the water warms up it will only get better and better - so check your calendars and come join us. It will close on June 24th so there is not much time left!

I would like to clear up an issue concerning the Salmon run in Astoria. You hear that the Ocean is closed. That is for COMMERCIAL fishing only. We are considered Recreation or Sport's so it DOES NOT AFFECT US!

Talking about SALMON - now is the time to get the dates that will work for you. The Ocean should open around July 1st for the Buoy 10 fish.

Also on the topic of Salmon - the Ocean will open June 1st for the Summer Chinook that we call the big JUNE HOGS!

And, for those of you that have heard the rumor that Len was ill - well that was right. However, he has made a complete full recovery and is back to his old SELF! HA!

He has been out fishing every chance he gets and here are some of the more recent pictures.

Hi Everyone!!

Here is a great bunch of Ocean Coho. Had these in the box and back to the dock before Noon!

Catching lots of Natives so it is a weeding process.

These 6 Coho and 1 Chinook took about 1 1/2 hours to catch!

It is shaping up to be a season like the good old days! Lots of fish and a fairly fast limit. They should be hitting the river in some numbers soon.

The Catch and Release Sturgeon Fishery has been a hoot! This is a great adventure for the kids. They don't have to worry about losing the fish and can just enjoy the fight!

Mid-August the river should be full of fish on into Mid-September. But the Ocean is HOT NOW!

So - here is my broken record again - call NOW to get a good Buoy 10 Salmon date and also do not forget those big FALL HOGS in Tillamook!

Hi Everyone!!

The Ocean has FINALLY calmed down so we can start getting out and Salmon fish!!

The Ocean is open NOW and the River opens on August 1st.

Here are a few Sturgeon pictures. Sturgeon is closed to retention - HOWEVER - you can Catch and Release.

In July we have all those big, fat Ocean Sturgeon in the River and fishing is awesome!

This is a 60 incher on the nose!!!

This group had an awesome day! Everyone got their fish including Len.

Vince caught another nice one. Not a 60 incher but some people fish their whole life and never catch a 60 incher! The other two in this picture are my Mother and my Sister, Brenda that came up from San Jose for the Holiday.

Needless to say, Brenda took some really nice Sturgeon fillets and razor clams back to California with her!

Hi Everyone!!

4 people - 5 fish = Len got one too!!

Last night I deep fried (I know NOT good for you) some pieces with Tempura batter - that with home made tarter sauce and we were set for the night! YUMMY!

Here is the first FLOUNDER of the year. I wouldn't mind catching a bunch of those. They are such great little fish to eat. Some years we catch a lot and some we only catch a few. ????

Now - here is little Chaplin the Dog. Len enjoyed his company very much. He liked to set there and watch the poles!

These we caught May 17th.

This is a very short season. It ends around July 1st or 2nd. We still have some days left - not many but some.

Hi Everyone!!

We now have gutters! Hee-Haw! Never thought I would be so excited about gutters. HA!

We also have the kitchen and living room drywalled and Len has been laying tile in his spare time - definately another HA! What spare time?

No dish washer - no kitchen sink. Have you ever tried to wash dishes in a bathroom sink? I find that the bathtub works the best! It is quite the sight!

We finally got the roof repaired and the drywallers come next week - so maybe I will have a kitchen again soon! I sure hope so.

Hi Everyone!

We have moved to Tillamook and are now chasing those FALL HOGS!

I forget how beautiful these fish really are. Nice and bright with long tailed sea lice right out of the Ocean!

It doesn’t get any better than that. Once you have had fresh Salmon – never frozen – you will cringe at buying it in the store again!

Here are a few pictures so far this year.

Our weather has been awesome. Chilly in the mornings and then clearing off to a bright, sunny day.

Hi Everyone!

Well - it is that time of year AGAIN!!

We are getting ready to make the move to TILLAMOOK for the Fall Fishery. Here is where we fish for those Huge King Chinook Salmon that we locally refer to as HOGS! (some people spell it HAWGS).

Here is an awesome King Chinook caught in the Columbia River here in Astoria.

35 POUNDS!! What a beauty!

Check this Steelhead out! This was caught on the same day.

Here is the whole catch. A COHO, a STEELHEAD and a 35 Pound KING CHINOOK.

Now THAT is a nice catch of fish!

Don't forget to get a date for the Fall Fishery in Tillamook.

Here are a few Ocean Salmon pictures.

Nice Chinook - around 25 pounds.

Great batch of fish. Some of these Coho are huge!

Look! The Guy on the right end caught a DOG! HA!

The River opens on August 1st. That gives us the opportunity to fish either one - depending on where the fish are.

I have been so busy that my posting of pictures is WAY behind. Here some really good ones. I have lots of them where a group of 5 or 6 are holding their fish - but these are some that are really nice and a little different. SO!!! The Sturgeon will stay open until July 4th. There is talk about it opening back up for a little while but we do not know yet for sure.

We do have some dates left open so call and get a date to get you a Sturgeon!

Ocean Salmon opens on July 3rd. It looks like it will be an awesome run. Not only do we get to fish on all our fish but also the ones that the Commercial guys down south are not getting to fish for. Bad for them but good for us.

THE STURGEON ARE HERE !!

We are in Astoria fishing for those awesome, pre-historic, hard fighting, great eating STURGEON !

It is 11:30 AM - I just talked to Len and he has five keepers in the boat - the limit for today. Tune in tomorrow and see that picture.

These are a couple of pictures of recent fish.

This Fishery will go through June and into the first couple of days of July. We still have a few days open so check your calendar and let's get you out there and get one for your freezer!

Also, the Ocean opens on July 3rd for the Chinoook/Coho run. Those of you who have fished this fishery before know what a kick it is! Lots of action with rods going down left and right. We usually wind up having to net fish with fish still in the net! No time to take them out!

Well - with all this weather we have been getting out and fishing the most that we can.

Here are a couple of recent WINTER STURGEON pictures.

Lots of SHAKERS were caught that day and they managed to pull 2 KEEPERS out of the lot.

This is in our 27 foot, covered boat. This shows the back and how roomy it is. It is a very comfortable boat to fish out of.

We are currently booking for SPRING CHINOOK, WINTER STURGEON and WINTER STEELHEAD.
